Do you hate photos of yourself?
Have you ever deleted a photo of yourself because you didn't like the way your body looked?
If you’ve ever met me, you’ll know how passionate I am about rebuilding people’s relationships with food and with their bodies. There’s absolutely no reason to go through life with such utter self-loathing.
Have you ever hidden your body behind a friend or a child in photos?
A client told me recently that they didn’t take photos of themselves such was the feelings of disgust towards their own body or if they did, then they hid behind one of their kids. How sad that looking back there will be so few photos of happy times with their family.
And then a few days ago, I watched someone having their photo taken actually do that and I twigged what was going on and my heart broke a little bit for them.
Do you only allow carefully taken selfies of your face on your social media?
Wouldn’t the world be a much nicer place if you loved your body? If you felt good about what you eat and didn’t feel guilty about it afterwards?
Wouldn’t you feel freer if you never had to diet ever again because you could naturally rebuild your relationship with food? Wouldn’t you like to stop obsessing about food?
Let’s not pass this diet culture onto the next generation and show them that you don’t have to be “perfect” (whatever that means!) to be body positive, happy and healthy.
