Million more with mental-health disabilities than three years ago
Mel Stride the work and pensions secretary yesterday came in for criticism saying that Britain was “labelling the normal ups and downs of human life as medical conditions” and that openness about mental health has “gone too far”.
Absolutely shocking comments from a person who clearly has no understanding whatsoever of the debilitating effect of a mental health issue.
Yes there’s a cost to society but wouldn’t it be better to spend energy, time and money on getting to the root cause and helping these people to get back on their feet rather than criticising them in a really unhelpful way?
